Just outside the main town of La Passe, Anse Severe is just a short, steep cycle over a hill past the cemetery. It is a great snorkelling spot and offers beautiful views across the bay. It's a good place for a swim as the water is not too rough, with rocks offshore that help break the waves. The water is not as shallow as the beaches on the west coast either, making it easier to take a dip. If you come here at sunset you're in for a real treat - the beach will be practically deserted. There are two guest houses and a small shack bar set behind the beach.
