Bliss-Hill Secret Garden hotel lives up to its name, for the most part. The hotel is surrounded by lush gardens, and the beach that's part of its grounds is absolutely blissful, especially at sunset. The beach has lounge chairs for guests, excellent swimming, and surprisingly good snorkeling. The hotel loans snorkeling gear to guests for free if you haven't brought your own, and when you get tired of exploring life underwater, you can move to the beautiful rock pool. When evening comes around, the hotel's beachside bar is perfect for sipping rum and watching the sun slip into the ocean.
The rooms and communal areas of Bliss-Hill Secret Garden are a little out of date and could use a facelift, but many of the rooms have excellent ocean views. The focus here is definitely relaxing on the beach, so don't check in expecting a huge flat screen TV, lightning-fast internet service, or an array of spa services. The hotel's staff is excellent, though, and if you have a problem with your room, questions about things to do in the area, or any other issues, they're extremely gracious and willing to help.
If you want to get away from the beach for a bit, there's excellent bus service from the hotel to nearby Beau Vallon and Victoria. You probably won't want to stay away for long, though. Bliss-Hill Secret Garden might be caught in a bit of a time warp, but it's got relaxing and taking in the natural beauty of the Seychelles perfected.
