The Kempinski is based in the secluded south west of Mahe island – arguably the best area to stay in Mahé - on the beautiful Baie Lazare. With a natural reef offshore to break the waves, Kempinski borders a lagoon like beach offering calm waters for paddle boarding, snorkelling or kayaking, and is bordered on all sides by granite hills and lush, verdant tropical foliage.
This stunning situation means if all you want to do is relax with your loved ones then everything is on hand – but if you seek to explore some on Mahe’s most spectacular bays, secluded coves and forest clad hills you’re in the perfect spot for some adventure.
The beach at Kempinski is an impressive sweep of white sand fringed by coconut palms, perfect for a long walk or watersports thanks to the calm waters. Unlike the southern end of the bay where waves and currents can make the beach unsafe from June – September, the waters are calm and protected by the reef making swimming safe, though you may want to borrow reef shoes from the resort as there are coral and rocks beneath the shallow waters.
Within 10 minutes drive of Kempinski are at least six other stunning beaches, including some of the islands most spectacular, so the position is ideal for exploration and beach hopping.
Tucked away at the foot of the hills that back the resort, the Kempinski spa is set in rich, beautiful gardens. The treatment rooms really show off their surroundings, built of beautiful dark timbers with large windows looking onto their own private corners of tropical gardens.#
Restaurants & Bars
Café Lazare offers sumptuous buffets for breakfast and dinner, and is included in the resort’s half board package. Every evening you can sample delights from around the world through the various theme evenings, from Asian and Arabic food through to seafood specials and Italian feasts.

If you’re looking for a light snack Windsong Bar on the resort’s seafront offers a range of salads, wraps and light lunches during the day, with a delicious hot stone barbeque in the evening where you can cook your choice of steak, seafood or fish to perfection at your table.
For drinks the Windsong is the idea venue by day for cocktails or a chilled Seybrew, while the dedicated champagne bar on the beach allows you to toast the holiday of a lifetime. At night the Planters Bar and Lounge offers a range of cocktails, digestifs and live entertainment every evening.
Activities, Sports & Recreation
