The Palm Beach Hotel and Beach Resort is located on the Grand Anse Beach on Praslin Island. The warm turquoise water is shallow and calm, making it a perfect spot for children to play and swim. The hotel has 13 spacious rooms with views of the sea and the sunset from the private balconies.
The restaurant serves traditional Creole and international cuisine, and there is a buffet style breakfast.
There are fascinating places to see near the hotel including the UNESCO World Heritage site the Valle de Mai and Mont Plaisir Nature trail to Anse Lazio. The Valle de Mai is a primeval forest with rare plants and animals found nowhere else.
Tours to the Black Pearl Farm on Praslin can also be arranged. There is a giant clam farm, a pearl farm and the black pearl shop. The farm has over 40,000 giant clams and black pearls are cultured on the premises. It is the only pearl cultivation in the Indian Ocean. Visitors have the opportunity to buy beautiful jewellery including earrings, rings, strands and pendants that are hand crafted in Western Australia. They are set in white or yellow gold with or without argyle diamonds and many pieces are one of a kind.
Fishing is another popular activity on Praslin. Boats can be chartered for a few hours or for a full day of fishing, which includes lunch and snacks, soft drinks and drinking water. There are also charters for big-game fishing or for visiting other islands.
On-site at the hotel are a swimming pool, internet access, table tennis, kayaks, darts and billiards. Babysitting services are available on request.
The Palm Beach Hotel aims for sustainable tourism and has waste and water management programmes. They make compost for the local farmers and only use local organic produce for the cooking at the hotel.
